V RAPLAMAA YOUNG MUSICIAN COMPETITION
2nd of April 2025 at the Rapla Cultural Center
The competition is open to students of music schools in Raplamaa with the aim of recognizing young musical talents in Raplamaa and their teachers. A broader goal is to promote classical music education in Raplamaa. The competition takes place in three age groups.
Students from the following schools will be participating in the competition:
Rapla Music School
9-year-old Adeele Sära Toots (violin), 7-year-old Lukas Läätsim (saxophone),
9-year-old Gretel Vesinurm (flute), 11-year-old Johan Lepiste (saxophone),
10-year-old Artur Gerassimov (clarinet), 10-year-old Marii Kaselt (piano), 16-year-old Rednar Moks (saxophone),
13-year-old Õnneliis Lumiste (flute) and 17-year-old Hanna Luukas (violin);
Kehtna Art School
9-year-old Emil Johannes Välja (tuba);
Kohila Art School
11-year-old Thom Kivioja (alt), 10-year-old Miikael Nõlvak (trumpet),
11-year-old Mia Sofia Aavasalu (French horn), 13-year-old Anna Vahi (flute), 18-year-old Maarja Vahi (flute),
14-year-old Minna Mikson (violin) and 10-year-old Mirell Peedu (violin);
Märjamaa Music and Art School
9-year-old Avigeja Azalea Žilina (saxophone), 16-year-old Sten Marti Merjel (clarinet),
14-year-old Mariliis Ruus (piano), 15-year-old Merilin Kaldma (piano),
15-year-old Mia Laube (piano) and 12-year-old Liisa Laube (clarinet).
PROGRAM TO BE PERFORMED AT THE COMPETITION
The program length for the younger age group (7–9 years old) is 2–3 minutes,
for the middle age group (10–12 years old) 3–5 minutes,
and for the older age group (13 years and older) 6–8 minutes.
One piece from the competition program will be performed at the final concert.

In both age groups, three prize-winning places will be announced.
YOUNGER AGE GROUP:

II PLACE – 75 EUROS
III PLACE – 50 EUROS
MIDDLE AGE GROUP:
I PLACE – 125 EUROS
II PLACE – 100 EUROS
III PLACE – 75 EUROS
OLDER AGE GROUP:
I PLACE – 150 EUROS
II PLACE – 125 EUROS
III PLACE – 100 EUROS
GRAND PRIX – 200 EUROS
The Grand Prix will be announced at the opening concert of the Rapla Church Music Festival on
July 10 at 7 pm at the Rapla Church.
SCHEDULE
NB! The schedule may be subject to changes depending on the length of the competition programs.
12:00 pm – start of the competition
12:05 pm – younger age group competition
12:20 pm – jury deliberation / middle age group rehearsal
12:30 pm – jury concert and award ceremony for the younger age group
(winners from the younger age group are invited to perform at 3:15 pm)
1 pm – middle age group competition
1:40 pm – jury deliberation / older age group rehearsal
1:55 pm – older age group competition
3:15 pm – announcement of the winners, award ceremony, and concert of the winners from all age groups
3:45 pm – end of the competition
