XV TALLINN CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL 21st – 30th of August 2019

The festival has become a tradition and belongs to the top events of Estonian classical music. On 21st of August, the jubilee festival will begin with the Music Day at the Swedish St. Michael’s Church, where the performers will be young musicians from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn Music High School, Old Town Educational College and various music schools.

On the evening of solo songs on the 22nd of August, the Marje and Kuldar Sink award of PLMF “Young Singer 2019” will be presented for the fourteenth time by Mari-Ann and Tunne Kelam at Tallinn Town Hall.

The festival will feature the world premiere of composer Aaro Pertmann’s piece “Songs of Siuru”, written for soprano, saxophone, cello and accordion.

At nine festival concerts, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy Estonian top musicians Kristel PärtnaIrina ZahharenkovaSigrid Kuulmann,Atlan KarpAndreas LendRalf Taal and many others, as well as foreign guests from Denmark and Russia. Chamber ensemble Trio Hemeis will end the festival on 30th of August at Town Hall.

The esteemed music festival of our beautiful capital is designed to decorate and enrich the cultural image of Tallinn and the whole of Estonia. The festival has been awarded with the EFFE quality mark of the European Festivals Association from 2015 to 2018.
