YUKA MORISHIGE
was born in Tokyo, Japan and started to play the piano at the age of four. After the graduation of Toho-Gakuen School of Music, she entered the Universität der Künste Berlin (Prof. Klaus Hellwig) in Germany, where she gained her performing diploma (2014) and master’s degree in music (2017). She has also taken part of chamber music master courses (Franck-Immo Zichner) and gained another master’s degree (2019). During her studies she got scholarships from Yamaha music foundation, Gisela und Erich Andreas Stiftung and Ottilie-Selbach-Redslob-Stiftung. Y. Morishige has gained prizes in many international competitions including Artur Schnabel Competition in Berlin, Young Piano Stars International Piano Competition and Pianale International Piano Competition. In 2017 she was one of the semifinalists of the Saint-Priest International Piano Competition and Busoni International Piano Competition. Y. Morishige has performed both as a soloist and as a chamber musician all over Europe as well as in Japan and South Korea. She has performed as a soloist among others such works as Piano Concerto Op.17 by Paderewski at the big hall of Berliner Philharmonie with Akademisches Orchester Berlin, “Symphony of Psalms” by Stravinsky at the Berliner Philharmonie with Junges Ensemble Berlin. Sometimes she is working as an extra with Neubrandenburger Philharmonie.
