PETR NOUZOVSKÝ is one of the most outstanding Czech cellists of his generation, performing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Regentenbau in Bad Kissingen, Pau Casals Auditorium in El Vendrell, Rudolfinum in Prague, and the Herkulessaal in Munich. His playing is highly acclaimed for its exceptional technical elegance and original, architecturally refined interpretative style. He is a frequent guest at major Czech music festivals such as Prague Spring, the Leoš Janáček International Music Festival, and Dvořák Prague, and regularly collaborates with most Czech and Slovak orchestras. Internationally, he has appeared with renowned ensembles including the Nagoya Philharmonic, Kraków Philharmonic, and Philharmonie Südwestfalen, working with conductors such as Jakub Hrůša, Petr Popelka, Jonathan Judd, and Carlo Scaglione. Nouzovský has recorded 29 CDs for labels including Brilliant Classics, Dabringhaus und Grimm, Albany Records, Supraphon, and ArcoDiva. His interpretations have often been compared to those of legendary cellists Mstislav Rostropovich (Classica Magazine) and Saša Večtomov (Harmonie). His recording of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor (with the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Stanislav Vavřínek) was named the best historical recording of the work by Fanfare magazine (July/August 2022, Jerry Dubins). In 2020, he recorded the complete cello works of Bohuslav Martinů for the first time (with the Pilsen Philharmonic, Tomáš Brauner, Miroslav Sekera, and Gary Wyss). Nouzovský studied in Prague, Dresden, and Madrid, and has participated in masterclasses led by Mstislav Rostropovich, Lynn Harrell, and Boris Pergamenschikov. In 2022, he took part in a historic event by giving the world premiere of Martinů’s Romance together with pianist Martin Kasík. He has also premiered works by composers Kopelent, Štochl, and Srnka. Over his 22-year solo career, Nouzovský has given nearly 3,000 concerts in 40 countries across four continents. He plays a cello made in 1921 by Viennese master Georg Rauer.
ANDREAS LEND is one of Estonia’s most acclaimed cellists. Lend has participated in masterclasses with many internationally renowned cellists, including Frans Helmerson, David Geringas, Michael Ostertag, Jan-Erik Gustafsson, Niklas Ullner, Marko Ylönen, Márcio de Oliveira Pinto, Alexander Ivashkin, and Jörg Goritzki, among others.
