The Russian soprano Julia Muzychenko was born in 1994 in St. Petersburg (Russian Federation). She is currently studying at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Prof. T. Novichenko); has participated in master calsses with Natalie Dessay, Elena Obraztsova, Olga Makarina and Ildar Abdrazakov.
Julia Muzychenko’s repertoire includes opera, songs and vocal cycles of various composers. She regularly performs at the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia and the Hermitage Theater in St. Petersburg, among others.
Despite her relative youth, Julia has already debuted as Brigitta in Tchaikovsky’s «Iolanta» (2017, Theatre of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory) and as Frasquita in Bizet’s «Carmen» (2015, Hermitage Theatre); also as Cinderella in the modern composition of «Cinderella» by V. Tarnopolsky (2015, Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg). In summer 2016, Julia Muzychenko sang in the «Russian Music Seasons» concerts together with an orchestra conducted by A. Kantorov.
Julia is the recipient of many awards, including the Sergey Rachmaninov International Vocal Competition (1st Prize, 2016), the 5th B. Shtokolov International Vocal Competition (1st Prize, 2016), the Crescendo International Music Competition in Carnegie Hall in New York (1st Prize, 2013).
Her various repertoire includes many operatic roles, such as Violetta in «La traviata», Musetta in «La bohème», Liu in «Turandot», Marfa in «The Tsar’s Bride», Swan Princess in «The tale of Tzar Saltan», Lauretta in «Gianni Schicchi», Susanna in «Le Nozze di Figaro», Euridice in «Orfeo ed Euridice», Gilda in «Rigoletto», Adina in «L’elisir d’amore», Amina in «La Sonnambula», Giulietta in «I Capuleti e i Montecchi», Oscar in «Un ballo in maschera», Zerlina in «Don Giovanni», Elvira in «I Puritani», Lucia in «Lucia Di Lammermoor», Ludmila in «Ruslan i Ludmila».
