KADI J\u00dcRGENS<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201c<\/span>Young Singer 2018\u201d (PLMF Music Trust award by Marje and Kuldar Sink) laureate K. J\u00fcrgens is an exceptional young Estonian mezzo-soprano who’s singing journey will continue from this Autumn at the International Opera Academy in Ghent, Belgium. K. J\u00fcrgens started her music studies with violin and flute. Since 2014 she has been pursuing classical singing at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT, Prof. Taimo Toomast, Nade\u017eda Kurem ja Eva M\u00e4rtson-Wilson) and in addition learning contemporary improvisation (Prof. Anne-Liis Poll). K. J\u00fcrgens spent the academic year 2018\/19 as an exchange student in Belgium at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (RCA, Prof. Gary Jankowski, Lucienne Van Dyke). K. J\u00fcrgens has taken part in several masterclasses held by renowned opera singers and vocal coaches from Estonia, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, USA, Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden\u00a0 (<\/span>Pille Lill, Wilma Vernocchi, Marie Vassiliou, Maciej Pikulski, <\/span>Kristian Attila, <\/span>Maria Ljudko, Sofia Mazar, Margareta Haverinen Brandt etc). <\/span>In 2015 she was given a scholarship from Italy and in 2017 from Estonia (Mati Palmi fond) to take part in Wilma Vernocchi masterclasses in Italy. During her studies at the EAMT K. J\u00fcrgens has sang opera roles such as La Maestra Delle Novizie \u2013 G. Puccini \u201cSuor Angelica\u201d (2016), Mrs Grose \u2013 B. Britten \u201cThe Turn of the Screw\u201d (2016), Dido \u2013 H. Purcell \u201cDido and Aeneas\u201d (2016) and Orlando \u2013 G. F. H\u00e4ndel “Orlando” (2018). In 2017 K. J\u00fcrgens made her debut at the Theatre Vanemuine as Andromache in M\u00e4rt-Matis Lill \u201cInto the Fire\u201d and in 2019 at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp as Nancy in B. Britten \u201cAlbert Herring\u201d. K. J\u00fcrgens has also performed as a soloist with Oulu Symphony Orchestra (2018) and worked with many eminent conductors and directors <\/span>(<\/span>Giorgio Proietti, Michiel Delanghe, Paul M\u00e4gi, Taavi Kull, Ingrid Roose, Stephan J\u00f6ris, Hermann Keckeis, Beno\u00eet De Leersnyder, Laura Kalle, Taago Tubin etc)<\/span>.<\/span> Contemporary music has always had a great influence on her as a singer and an artist and already several distinguished composers from Estonia and abroad have written music for her.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

OLIVER KUUSIK<\/strong><\/h3>\n
is one of his generations most outstanding opera soloists in Estonia, who studied at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Associate Prof. Pille Lill and Prof. Virgilius Noreika. He received his master\u2019s degree and graduated from the opera studio of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (2006). He was the soloist of the Estonian National Opera between 2008-2017 and is working as a freelancer now. From the most important roles his repertoire includes: Faust (Gounod \u201cFaust\u201d), Nemorino (Donizetti \u201cThe Elixir of Love\u201d, Liverpool, UK), Don Ramiro (Rossini \u201cLa Cenerentola\u201d), Sesto (H\u00e4ndel \u201cJulius Caesar\u201d), Fenton (Verdi \u201cFalstaff\u201d) etc. He has taken part of the recording of Fleishman\u2019s opera \u201cRotchild\u2019s Violin\u201d together with the Liverpool Royal Symphony Orchestra and sung the role of Enjolras in Sch\u00f6nberg\u2019s\/Boublil\u2019s musical \u201cLes Miserables\u201d. O. Kuusik has performed as an oratorio and chamber music singer in over 25 different grand musical works and given concerts in Estonia as well as several foreign countries. In 2010 O. Kuusik was rewarded with the annual \u201cCrystal Shoe\u201d Award of the Estonian Theatre Union, in 2009 he was chosen as a laureate of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques (Montreal, Canada), in 2008 he received the annual Estonian Theatre Award for his singing in Britten\u2019s \u201cTurn of the Screw\u201d and he has been awarded with the PLMF award \u201cYoung Singer 2005\u201d. Several praising reviews have been published about him in worlds most notable publications such as Opera Now, Opera Magazine, The Stage, The London Times etc.<\/div>\n

KAI RATASSEPP<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\n

is a recognized soloist and chamber musician, her repertoire includes music from classical to contemporary. Kai Ratassepp graduated from the piano class of Ruuta Taras and Lilian Semper at Tallinn Music High School in 1988 and continued her studies at the Estonian Academy of Music under the guidance of Lilian Semper and Peep Lassmann. In 2007, under the guidance of Peep Lassmann, she acquired a doctorate from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. She has furthered her skills in the masterclasses of Andrei Gavrilov, Ralf Goth\u00f3n and Arbo Valdma. Kai Ratassepp has won awards at several national and international piano festivals in Belgrade (1990), Vilnius (1991) and Tallinn (1994, 1996). She has given solo concerts and performed in various bands in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Germany, England, USA, China, Poland and Russia. The most important and recognised of her chamber ensembles is the piano duo with Mati Mikalai. Other frequent band partners have been, for example, saxophonist Virgo Veldi and clarinettist Madis Kari. Kai Ratassepp works as a piano lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and Tallinn Music High School.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
