HENRI ZIBO <\/strong>and MIKK LANGEPROON<\/strong> have been performing together since 2012. During this time, they have given hundreds of concerts in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland. Among their most notable performances are appearances on various television programs such as Klassikat\u00e4hed (Classical Stars), Laulud s\u00f5durile (Songs for Soldiers), Terevisioon, Ringvaade, and Telehommik, as well as concerts in Estonia\u2019s major halls \u2014 the Estonia Concert Hall, the Great Hall of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, and the House of the Blackheads.<\/span>
Over the years, the duo\u2019s repertoire has featured a wide range of world classics, including Mussorgsky\u2019s Pictures at an Exhibition and Tchaikovsky\u2019s Nutcracker Suite. In addition, they perform a variety of shorter pieces and have introduced audiences to numerous new works and premieres by Estonian composers.<\/span>
In 2018, the duo took part in the prestigious international accordion competition Coupe Mondiale, where they achieved 5th place in the chamber music category. Today, Henri Zibo and Mikk Langeproon are among Estonia\u2019s most sought-after accordion performers, giving concerts regularly every week.<\/span><\/p>\n

HENRI ZIBO began his accordion studies at the age of 10 at the Haapsalu Music School, graduating with distinction (teacher S. Roogla). From 2012 to 2015, he continued his studies at the Tallinn Music High School (teacher A. Tilk), and since autumn 2015, at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (teacher T. V\u00e4lja). He received his bachelor\u2019s degree in 2018 and continued with master\u2019s studies at the same institution.<\/span>
Zibo has won several prizes: 3rd place (2008, 2010) and 1st place (2012) at the Northwest Estonia Accordion Competition; 1st place at the 7th and 8th National Young Accordionists\u2019 Competitions; 2nd place in the television competition Klassikat\u00e4hed 2014; and 2nd place at the Naujene 2016 competition in Daugavpils, Latvia.<\/span>
He has performed as a soloist with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Estonian Defence Forces Orchestra, the Tallinn University Orchestra, and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. He has also participated in masterclasses with renowned accordion virtuosos such as M. V\u00e4yrynen, M. Rantanen, G. Draugsvoll, M. Luoma, C. Buder, and A. Borregaard.<\/span>
Zibo has collaborated with numerous Estonian musicians and composers, including M. Poll, M. Vind, J. Randvere, M. J. Kits, K. M. Kits, M. Kuningas, M. Sadam, A. Savitski, T. Aints, and maestro A. P\u00e4rt. Henri Zibo is a scholarship recipient of the Music Trust PLMF.<\/span><\/p>\n

MIKK LANGEPROON began studying accordion at the age of 8 at the Tallinn Music School and graduated with distinction from the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School (teacher T. V\u00e4lja), where he was awarded the Ots School Silver Badge. At the same time, he graduated from Kadriorg German Gymnasium with a gold medal.<\/span>
From 2014 to 2019, he earned his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (prof. M. Rantanen). During the 2017\/18 academic year, he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria (prof. J. R\u00e4tty\u00e4) through a student exchange program.<\/span>
Langeproon has repeatedly achieved top places in the Best Young Musician competition, won the senior age group of the Estonian Young Accordionists\u2019 Competition (2014), and took 2nd place at the International Vilnius Accordion Competition. He has been named Best Instrumentalist of Tallinn Music School (2011) and the Most Outstanding Accordion Student of the Ots School for three consecutive years.<\/span>
In 2013, he received the Maxima Future Talent title in the field of music, art, and culture. He was also awarded a special prize from the Round Table competition (2014) and gave a successful performance on the TV competition Klassikat\u00e4hed 2016.<\/span>
Langeproon performs both as a soloist and as a chamber musician and has appeared in many prestigious concert halls in Estonia and abroad, as well as in live broadcasts on Klassikaraadio and Estonian Television.<\/span>
A highlight of his career was the world premiere of composer Tauno Aints\u2019 Accordion Concerto with the Helsinki Chamber Orchestra in February 2020. Mikk Langeproon is a scholarship recipient of the Music Trust PLMF.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
