The choir’s repertoire includes sacred and secular works from various eras\, folk music arrangements\, pop and jazz music with modern choreography\, and large vocal symphonic forms. The choir has been a developmental environment for a whole generation of Estonian musicians – Kai Rüütel \, Maria Valdmaa\, Hanna-Liis and Hando Nahkur\, Vaiko Eplik\, Maarja\, Hanna-Liina Võsa\, Lenna\, Nele-Liis Vaiksoo and others. The choir has won several Grand Prix and prizes (including the EBU radio competition “Let the Peoples Sing”). Valuable stage experience has been gained in collaboration with such renowned musicians and orchestras as the ERSO and Neeme Järvi\, Paul Hillier and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir\, Eri Klas and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra\, Ona Onabule and Villu Veski\, the Estonian National Orchestra\, etc. At the concert in Tallinn Town Hall\, the choir was praised for its high level and beautiful sound by the world-famous opera singer Jose Carreras. The choir was the first Estonian choir to be invited to the IX World Choir Music Symposium\, and in addition to the concert programme\, the choir held master classes in choral music from the Nordic and Baltic countries under the guidance of Aarne Saluveer. In August 2012\, the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation honored the ETV Girls’ Choir and Aarne Saluveer with the Guidoneum Award for years of versatile musical activities in choral music. In the summer of 2017\, the choir represented Estonia in the TV show “Eurovision Choir of the Year 2017” with the programme “Absolut Tormis” dedicated to Veljo Tormis. The choir has also recorded several CDs\, the most popular of which are “Ring on täis”\, “For Music” and the CD/DVD “Gratias”.\n\nAarne Saluveer graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatory of Music in choral conducting and music pedagogy and furthered his education at the Carl Orff Institute at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He has served as a conductor and promoter of music education on the boards of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM)\, the World Choral Council\, Europa Cantat and the Estonian Music Council\, and was Chairman of the Estonian Choral Society from 2000 to 2012. Since 1993 he has conducted children’s and junior choirs at Estonian Song Festivals\, and was the Artistic Director of the 10th Youth Song Festival ILMAPUU (2007). From 1990 to 2000 he worked as music editor for children’s programmes on Estonian Television\, and from 1990 to 2004 as music director and principal conductor of the Lasteekraani Music Studio. He has been the artistic director of concerts in honour of Queen Elizabeth II and the Japanese Emperor and Empress\, and artistic director of the music programme for the 89th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.  \nAs an instrumentalist\, vocalist\, composer and arranger\, he has participated in renowned pop groups and projects (including Karavan\, Elektra\, Totu Cool\, Surprise Reggae Sunshine Band and others). \nHe has been awarded the Estonian Cultural Endowment’s annual awards in 1999\, 2006 and 2007\, the Order of the White Star of the 5th Class\, the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation Prize (Italy)\, the UNICEF Estonian National Committee Annual Award 2002 and 2007\, and the Heino Kaljuste Foundation Scholarship 2007. He was chosen Musician of the Year 2007 by the Estonian National Broadcasting and Conductor of the Year 2007 by the Estonian Choral Society.\n\nNEEME OTS is one of the most talented trumpet players among younger generation in Estonia. He began his studies at the age of six under the guidance of his father\, dots. Aavo Ots and he has defended a bachelor’s degree at the Helsinki Sibelius Academy (2011). The studies continued at the same place at the masters’ level\, where he furthered his skills in the context of an Erasmus program during 2013 in Madrid. N. Ots has taken part of the master courses of several distinguished trumpet pedagogues and he has been awarded with several prizes at competitions in Estonia and abroad. Chamber concerts have brought him together with such reputed interprets as M. Voites\, M. Palm\, A. Teemets\, I. Zahharenkova etc. N. Ots has been a soloist in front of several well-known orchestras\, he has been invited to perform as a soloist at several festivals and he has cooperated with such outstanding conductors as J.-P. Saraste\, K. Järvi\, L. Segerstam\, M. Lehtinen etc. He has been a concert master of the trumpet group in several different youth orchestras with which he has performed in Estonia and abroad. In 2015\, his first CD “Baroque Pictures” was released in cooperation with the organ player Tiia Tenno.\n\nTiia Tenno is one of the most valued ensemble partners in Estonia\, who has graduated from Tartu Heino Eller Music School studying piano and Estonian Academy of Music and Theater as well as from Herford School of Church Music studying organ (Germany). In addition\, she has furthered her skills in Hamburg School of Music and she has taken part of many distinguished organists’ master classes. From 1996 T. Tenno is working in Tallinn St. John’s Church as an organist and a choir leader. She has also worked as an organist-choir leader in Schnathorst Church in Germany and Lunde Chruch in Norway and she has been the department leader of the church music department of the Estonian Institute of Theology (2004-2007). T. Tenno has cooperated with multiple outstanding interprets (O. Sinkova\, N. Ots\, T. Vavilov\, A. Teemets\, P. Lill etc.) and she has given many solo concerts in Germany\, Finland\, Sweden\, Norway and Estonia. She has given multiple performances at several festivals and as a soloist she has cooperated with the Finnish-Estonian Baroque Orchestra and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. A lot of the music that is played by her is on the recordings of Estonian Public Broadcasting and many other collection CD-s (“Estonian Valuable Organs” – Tallinn St. John’s church organ (publisher ERES\, 2000); “Baroque Pictures” with trumpetist Neeme Ots (publisher Tanel Klesment\, 2015). T. Tenno is a member of the Estonian Organ Society from 1999 and a member of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians from 2014.

Kolstad\, a Metier Artist in Residence\, born 1981 in Oslo – Norway\, completed his bachelor degree under Prof. Sigurd Slåttebrekk at The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo in 2006. He completed his master degree at the same adacemy and also with Prof Slåttebrekk\, performing George Gershwin´s piano concertos. He has performed solo recitals in Tallinn\, Latvia\, Russia\, Portugal\, France\, England\, Germany\, Italy\, USA\, Japan\, China\, Indonesia\, Thailand\, Norway\, Sweden\, Denmark\, Finland\, Mexico\, Australia\, Turkey\, Romania\, Hungary\, Ukraine\, Poland. As a soloist with orchestra in Russia\, Poland\, Ukraine\, Norway. He is known for his virtuoso variations on historical music combined with humor / stand up. A. Kolstad has performed in most of the biggest chamber music festivals in Norway and has also performed much in Estonia and Russia\, where he has had a lot of TV and radio performances as well. He had his debut concert in Carnegie Hall in October 2010 with a full house and a standing ovation. A. Kolstad studied composition with Wolfgang Plagge and has since the age of 17 performed his own virtuoso works for piano solo in many countries all over the world already. He has also conducted many of his orchestral works. American press has called him “The New Victor Borge”. Swedish press has called him “The Franz Liszt of our time”. He first started Café de Concert in 2003 and in 2009 he opened the worlds first classical concert café in Oslo\, creating an urban buzz and creative marketing of classical music.

DESCRIPTION:Tallinn Town Hall\n18th of February at 6 p.m.\nClarinet quartett\nMarten Altrov\, Martin Kuusk\, Kerit Ilves and Margus Parind\nBuy ticket 15/10€\n\nMARTEN ALTROV started clarinet studies at Nõmme Music School (Villu Musting\, Madis Kari\, Meelis Vind). In 2011 he graduated from the Georg Otsa Music School. He graduated from the Georg Ots School of Music (Vello Sakkos\, Vahur Vurm) and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (2016) in Hannes Altrov’s clarinet class. He has furthered his studies at the Sibelius Academy (Prof. Harri Mäki). M. Altrov has won 1st prize at the international competition for clarinet players “Young Clarinetists” in Latvia (Ruijena 2005\, 2007)\, 1st prize at the international competition-festival “Renaissance” in Armenia (2013) and was a finalist of the Estonian National Radio competition “Klassikatähed 2013”. M. Altrov has given numerous concerts both as soloist and orchestrator with the Nõmme Music School Chamber Orchestra\, the Estonian Youth Symphony Orchestra\, the European Youth Wind Orchestra and the orchestra “Norden”\, as well as with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra\, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra\, the Pärnu and Narva City Orchestras (conductors J. Alperten\, R. Joost\, J. R. Kangur) and in the orchestra accompanying the Manhattan Transfer (2007 Tallinn and Helsinki). Concert tours have taken place in Latvia\, Russia\, Finland\, Sweden\, Norway\, Germany\, Hungary\, Austria\, the Czech Republic\, Luxembourg\, Belgium\, France\, the Netherlands\, Italy\, Cyprus and South Africa. M. Altrov has furthered his studies in the master classes of Fabio di Casola\, Matthew Hunt\, Claudio Conti\, Juan Esteban Romero\, Carina Washington and Selvadore Rähn\, and has performed as soloist with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra\, Pärnu City Orchestra and Narva City Orchestra. In addition to classical clarinet playing\, Marten is interested in jazz music and is a member of the band “Abraham’s Cafe”. M. Altrov is a recipient of a PLMF scholarship. \n\nMARTIN KUUSK studies jazz saxophone at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. He graduated from the Nõmme Music School in classical clarinet and the Georg Otsa Tallinn Music School in rhythm clarinet. As a musician he has had the opportunity to play in almost all styles with many renowned Estonian musicians. In addition to playing the instrument\, M. Kuusk is also taking his first steps as a teacher. He has won prizes at several competitions\, including the Viljandi Music Triad\, Grand Prix (solo song\, 1st place\, folk music song\, 3rd place\, original song\, 2nd place\, 2011)\, Uno Naissoo creation competition\, best instrumentalist (2011)\, Three Schools Wind and Percussion Competition\, 3rd place (2011)\, Round Table Competition Winner and Audience Award (2010)\, Estonian Music Schools Association Competition\, 1st place (2007)\, Estonian Music Schools Association Competition\, 3rd place (2005). \n\nKERIT ILVES began her clarinet studies at Tallinn University in Hendrik Nagla’s clarinet class. After receiving her bachelor’s degree\, she furthered her skills at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School (taught by Vello Sakkos and Meelis Vind). In 2019\, he obtained a Master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (Prof. Toomas Vavilov). In 2018\, he studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg (professors Andrei Kazakov and Alexander Vasilyev). K. Ilves has been awarded 1st prize at the Round Table 5 Tallinn NORD scholarship competition (2016). He has performed as soloist with the Tallinn University Symphony Orchestra\, the Pan-Estonian Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra (conductors M. Sildos\, J-R. Kangur\, K. Mänd). He is currently playing with the Estonian Military Orchestra. \n\nMARGUS PARIND started his musical career at the Võru Music School\, where he began his clarinet studies with Hendrik Juurikas and Vilja Jõe. DESCRIPTION:St. Michael’s Church\nYOUNG TALENTS ON VALENTINE’S DAY\n14th of February at 3 p.m.\nValle-Rasmus Roots (cello) and Tähe-Lee Liiv (piano)\nProgramme: Faure\, Grieg etc.\nFree entry!\n\nValle-Rasmus Roots began his cello studies in 2001 in the cello class of Mart Laas at Tallinn Music High School\, graduating in 2013 in the class of M. Laas and Prof. Henry-David Varema. In 2017 he graduated cum laude from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with a bachelor’s degree in cello with Prof. Varema. He is currently pursuing his Master’s studies at the same institution. During his bachelor studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre\, he has been taught by Prof. Varema and Prof. Marko Ylönen. In the academic year 2015/2016\, V.-R. Roots studied at the cello class of Prof. Wolfgang Boettcher at the Universität der Künste in Berlin within the framework of the ERASMUS+ student exchange programme. In the academic year 2017/2018 he studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in the cello class of Prof. Marko Ylönen. V.-R. Roots has been a successful participant in several competitions. His most recent achievement is the 1st prize at the Baltic String Players Competition in December 2018 in Vilnius\, Lithuania. He is the laureate of the Estonian Young String Players Competition-Festival (2011 and 2013). Together with pianist Auli Lonks\, he won the prize at the chamber music competition In Corpore in 2015.  He is the winner of the Yamaha scholarship competition (2016). \nHe has also performed as a soloist with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra\, TMKK Symphony Orchestra\, Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra\, EMTA Symphony Orchestra and Pärnu City Orchestra. V.-R. Roots has taken part in several courses and masterclasses with outstanding cellists (e.g. D. Geringas\, W. Boettcher\, N. Jones\, M. Ylonen\, F. Gouton). He plays the C. Pakri) and continued her studies there since 2013\, teacher. M. Gerretz-Traksmann’s piano class and in 2019 also in Prof. I. Ilya’s class. With the latter\, he continues his studies at the EMTA Youth Department and since the academic year 2017 he has been studying in Italy (with K. Bogino). In 2018\, T.-L. Liiv started his piano studies in Helsinki\, at the Youth Department of the Sibelius Academy (teacher: H.-Y. Tawaststjerna). He has performed as a soloist with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra\, Pärnu City Orchestra\, the orchestra of the “Young Musician” competition\, the Chioggia Chamber Orchestra in the province of Venice\, Italy\, the Alion Baltic Festival Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Sergei Stadler) and the Virumaa Chamber Orchestra (conducted by Toivo Peäske\, 2018). The same concert was performed by T.-L. Liiv at Merkin Hall\, Lincoln Center\, New York\, with the New York Camerata Orchestra (dir Richard Owen). In 2021\, T.-L. Liiv performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 with the EMTA Symphony Orchestra (dir V.-R. Roots). T.-L. Liiv has performed with the ERSO in Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. During the 2021-2022 season he will perform with the Kratt Festival Orchestra (conductor Olari Elts)\, the Helsinki NMKY Symphony Orchestra (conductor Tapio von Boehm)\, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra\, the ERSO and the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra. T.-L. Liiv is also an active chamber musician\, performing with many different ensembles. Since 2020 he has been playing with Trio Meri\, Triinu Piirsalu (violin) and Simon Svoboda (cello). In the summer of 2021\, she graduated from the highly acclaimed International Academy of Opera\, part of the OBV\, in Ghent\, Belgium\, and this year sings as a soloist both there and in her home country\, including her debut in the title role in G. Bizet’s opera Carmen at the Vanemuine Theatre. K. K. Jürgens studied violin and flute at the Tallinn Music High School and classical singing at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School before continuing her studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EMTA). K. In 2019/2019\, Jürgens spent the first semester of his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp in Belgium. In 2021 K. In 2021\, 2021\, Jürgens sang in the finals of the 12th Klaudia Taevi Competition in Naples\, Italy\, where she won the third prize and the special prize for Estonian singing. In 2018\, she was awarded the PLMF Marje and Kuldar Sink Young Singer Prize 2018. K. Jürgens has continued her studies with eminent opera singers and teachers (Wilma Vernocchi\, Muriel Corradini\, Dietrich Henschel\, Charlotte Margiono\, Lucienne Van Deyck\, Hein Boterberg\, Maciej Pikulski\, Kristian Attila and others) both at home and in Italy\, Great Britain\, Germany\, France\, Belgium\, the Netherlands\, Finland\, Sweden and Lithuania. In 2015 she was awarded a Mati Palmi Foundation scholarship from Italy and in 2017 from Estonia to attend master classes with Wilma Vernocchi\, a long-time La Scala soprano. \n K. Jürgens has created several opera roles at EMTA. G. Puccini’s Sister Angelica (2016)\, Mrs Grose – B. Britten’s The Turn of the Screw (2016)\, Dido – H. Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (2016) and Orlando – G. F. Handel’s Orlando (2018). He has completed roles at the Vanemuine Theatre (Andromache – Märt-Matis Lill’s “Tulleminek”\, 2017) and the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Nancy – B. Britten’s “Albert Herring”\, 2019). At the Flanders Opera Academy\, Kadi made her debut in four operas in collaboration with OBV. A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni (2021) and Lotte Lenya – K. Weill’s LoveMusik (2021). \n K. At the Royal Scottish Academy and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London\, he specialised in accompanying singers. He is the recipient of the Geoffrey Parsons Young Talent Scholarship from the Royal College of Music\, London. At La Monnaie Opera House in Brussels\, he was assistant to renowned conductors A. Boterberg has given concerts in Europe\, Asia and Australia\, in halls such as the Wigmore Hall and the Purcelli Room in London\, the Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels and others with singers such as Christian Immler\, Malin Christensson\, Jonathan Lemalu and Sophie Karthäuser. In 2006\, she started the “Vocal Journey” concert series to mentor and offer performance opportunities to outstanding young singers from all over the world. She has been a co-director and pianist in masterclasses in the UK\, Malaysia\, Singapore\, Thailand\, Portugal and France\, with teachers such as T. Allen\, R. Bowman\, E. Kirkby\, A. Murray\, L. As a soloist he has performed with the Estonian Defence Forces Orchestra\, the Estonian Music Teachers’ Symphony Orchestra\, the youth orchestra Reaalmažoor and the Weinviertler Philharmoniker. Since 2016 P. Margus is a member of the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Duo Gedvilas and Margus started playing together in the chamber ensemble class of Marrit Gerretz-Traksmann.\n\nLukas Gedvilas is a pianist who performs frequently in Lithuania and other European countries\, and is the winner of several international competitions (France\, Spain\, Poland and Lithuania). L. Gedvilas graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a bachelor’s degree in piano under Prof. Aleksandra Žvirblytė and from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with a master’s degree under Prof. Ivari Ilja. She is currently continuing her studies in Lithuania with Prof. Jurgis Karnavičius. L. Gedvilas has participated in master classes of several pianists\, including Vera Nošina\, Dina Yoffe\, Eugen Indjic\, Kalman Drafi\, Michael Lewin\, Martin Jepsen\, Jarosław Drzewiecki\, Andrius Žlabys\, Mūza Rubackytė\, Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna\, Erik Tawaststjerna\, Guoda Gedvilaite\, Veronika Vitaitė\, Gintaras Januševičius\, Edvinas Minkštimas. She started with piano lessons with her mother when she was four\, studied at the Tallinn Georg Ots Music School (Prof Mare Ots) and Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (piano: Prof Lilian Semper; harpsichord: Prof Maris Valk-Falk) where she got her master’s in 2003 (Prof L. Semper). Irina continued at the EAMT doctoral studies in 2003–2011. In 2010 she also got her master’s from Helsinki Sibelius Academy in Finland (Prof Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna). Irina has furthered her studies in the master classes of S. Kovachevich\, A. Hewitt\, A. Schiff\, V. Meržanov\, H. Dreyfus\, P. Hantaï\, C. Stembridge\, P. Vapavuori etc. She has won first prizes in major international piano competitions: M. Čiurlionis Competition (Lithuania\, 2003)\, Prémio Jaén Competition (Spain\, 2004)\, “Van Vlaanderen” Festival Piano Competition Brügges (Belgium\, 2004)\, Competition in Epinal (France\, 2004)\, “Praha Spring“ Harpsichord Competition (Czech Republic\, 2005)\, Georges Enescu Piano Competition (Romenia\, 2005)\, Competition in Genf (Switzerland\, 2005)\, Alessandro Casagrande Competition (Italy\, 2006)\, Johann Sebastian Bach Competition (Leipzig\, 2006)\, Villa-Lobos Competition (Brazil\, 2006)\, A. Rubinštein Piano Competition (Israel\, 2008) ect. Irina has performed in several international festivals in Italy\, Germany\, Finland\, Norway and Estonia. She has also performed as a soloist with orchestras such as Estonian National Symphony Orchestra\, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra\, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra\, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra\, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Orchestre National de Lorraine. As an extremely versatile musician\, I. Zahharenkova frequently performs on the piano and harpsichord also in solo recitals and chamber music concerts. Two CD’s with Irina’s interpretations of J. S. Bach “Goldberg Variations” BWV 988 (2010\, Classical Recordings) and D. Scarlatti Sonatas (2012\, Classical Records) and also DVD “Keyboard Juggleress” (Estonian Records Production 2009) have been released. Irina’s repertoire encompasses a wide range of musical styles from baroque to contemporary. Today she lives and teaches in Finland\, Sibelius Academy and at the EAMT. Irina has also pursued the organ\, chemistry\, as well as Estonian and Finnish philology for her own interest. I. Zahharenkova is a scholar of the Music fund PLMF.
