Classical Wednesday’s in Tallinn Zoo are coming again

Tallinn Zoo, PLMF Music Trust and Friends of the Tallinn Zoo expect all music and animal lovers to Classical Wednesday’s. Concerts will be held on three first Wednesdays of August at 7 PM in the Environmental Education Center (address: Ehitajate tee 150) and it is possible to get to the concert with the zoo ticket.

Classical Wednesday’s series will start off on 2nd of August at 7 PM, where outstanding young accordionists, who are known from Classic Stars TV series, Henri Zibo and Mikk Langeproon will perform works by M. Mussorgski, P. Tšaikovski, O. Pane and others.

The second concert on 9th of August Prof. Aavo Ots’ trumpet ensemble, which consists of Mart ReinmetsMattis-Johan Mere, Mehis Martin Ots, Max Hein and Andreas Kalvet, will perform festive brass music.

On the last Wednesday on 16th of August soprano Kristina Vähi, who has an extraordinary expressiveness will perform works by W. A. Mozarti, I. Kalmani, G. Puccini and others and she will be accompanied by Estonian National Opera’s leading concert master Riina Pikani.

The classical music concerts in the zoo were started years ago and they are not comparable with a concert hall – in here, in the background of the music, the sounds of animals and birds can be heard, which together create a unique soundscape. The ticket offices of the zoo will close an hour before the concerts, which allows music lovers to get acquainted with the zoo an hour or two before the concert. It is good to walk around the zoo in August, because in addition to the animals, the greenery is also as beautiful and luscious as is suitable to a midsummer.

The Environmental Education Center is located at the west gate of the zoo, address Ehitajate tee 150. The ticket offices in the north and the south gate are open until 6 PM, but it is also possible to buy a ticket from the west gate’s self-service ticket office later. On the days of the concerts, café Mõmmu which is located in the education center is open between 5-9 PM.
